Do Not Be Concerned

The following letter to the editor was published in Bloomington Indiana’s local newspaper, The Herald-Times on July 29th, 2022.

Should we be concerned about Janeway visit?

It was recently announced that Kate Mulgrew, who played Captain Kathryn Janeway in the NBC television series “Star Trek: Voyager,” will be coming to visit the Janeway bust for an event on Oct. 23rd of this year.

I have always been against the Janeway statue but have decided to break my silence on this occasion. The bust is clearly a violation of the Temporal Prime Directive and will cause irreversible damage to the timeline if the future Janeway, who will be born in Bloomington in the year 2344, is allowed to see it and learn of the future adventures of her and her crew.

We know that Captain Janeway will be notorious for her disregard for the timeline, stating at one point “Temporal mechanics give me a headache.” We cannot trust that she will learn about Voyager getting stranded in the Delta Quadrant and allow it to happen the way it is supposed to. This will affect literally billions of lives, and endanger the Federation’s future success against the threat of the Borg Collective.

Do you want causality loops and paradoxes? Because this is how you get causality loops and paradoxes. Bring down with the Janeway statue, save the timeline.

Imposters Among Us

Please note that just like Kate Mulgrew on Twitter, we have an imposter!

There are social media accounts & a website dedicated to The Janeway Statue that are not genuine.

Kathryn Janeway is an amazing role model who deserves to be celebrated.  We fully support fan driven websites and other social media content.  We do not support sites that appear be official Janeway Collective accounts, but are not.

If you encounter the website or social media accounts shown, do not interact with them.  The Janeway Collective, INC. cannot be held responsible for the content contained within, or the data collected from them.

What Happens in Vegas

Two board members of the Collective attended the 55 Year Tour in Las Vegas this year, and were able to do something speciatular.

Upon a formal vote of the collective, they were authorized to provide Jeri Taylor with a bronze communicator made of the same bronze as The Janeway Statue, and one of our JK Woodward prints.

Thankfully we were able to get video of the event and are happy to share it with you.

Jeri provided some excellent words of kindness about our mission.  We are without words to describe what it feels like to have the person who created Kathryn Janeway praise what we have done, and continue to do.

Special Visitors

We have many visitors to the Janeway Statue, which we honor almost daily on our social media. Last weekend, a special group of visitors came. They taught us of a new world in Trek, TrekTok.

The Collective appreciates their creativity and admiration of our captain, Captain Janeway.

One of them is a musician, who played the Voyager theme on her flutes.

Her friends simply created “TrekToks” as they call them, on the platform TikTok.
