Kate will be here on Sunday October 23rd, and there will be a public event with Kate that afternoon to mark the occasion.

This is a moment we have all been anticipating as it will be Kate’s first visit to the Statue, almost 2 years to the day from when it was unveiled.

We don’t have many more details to share at this point but we will keep you all informed as the weekend’s plans and festivities unfold.

Stay tuned, and get excited.

Charlie Bird Visits Janeway

If you’re from Bloomington, or visit Bloomington often you might be aware of a somewhat famous bird, named Charlie.

He can be found at our Farmers Market, the Public Library and other places downtown quite often.

Charlie Bird has been suffering from some health issues, and so it was decided to create a children’s book to highlight the places Charlie loves to visit.  The digital version was released last night, with a page highlighting his visit to The Captain Janeway Statue.

If you want to learn more about Charlie, and his adventures please visit his website at www.charliebirdbtown.com or his facebook page.

A good captain always gives credit where credit is due, with that there are a couple of other people to thank as well.

Sarah Milward, the author of this book whom I communicated with over subspace communications and the artist who put the words into beautiful imagery, Winnie King.  You can find more information on Winnie through her facebook page, Winnie King Comics, or on instagram at @winniefrez.

Special Visitors

We have many visitors to the Janeway Statue, which we honor almost daily on our social media. Last weekend, a special group of visitors came. They taught us of a new world in Trek, TrekTok.

The Collective appreciates their creativity and admiration of our captain, Captain Janeway.

One of them is a musician, who played the Voyager theme on her flutes.

Her friends simply created “TrekToks” as they call them, on the platform TikTok.
